As the only open admission shelter on the island, Maui Humane Society is dedicated to protecting and saving the lives of all animals in need, educating the community, and inspiring respect and compassion towards all animals. It’s a heartfelt mission that those who operate and support this 501(c)3 non-profit organization are passionate about.

Over the years, their exceptional staff have cultivated an organizational culture that fosters collaboration and problem-solving. With strong leadership and strategic vision, their organization’s innovative programs, like Beach Buddies, Foster and Wings of Aloha, are saving more lives than ever before and enhancing the quality and availability of animal welfare services on Maui (and beyond!).

Maui is an ‘ohana, a community that fosters care and support. Maui Humane Society would not be able to save the lives of animals in need without the loving hearts on this island. Maui Humane Society is a service for the community and without the community, they couldn’t care for over 4,400 animals a year that come through their doors. From those who care for and adopt these animals to those who donate and volunteer their time, and fosters who dedicate their love – everyone doing their part is a superhero to these animals who need a home.

Last year, over 1,600 animals were adopted and given a second chance. Merchandise is also available for sale so you can shout from the top of Haleakala to the depths of the ocean your support of Maui Humane Society.

For kama‘aina, Maui Humane Society may offer adoption promotions or waive adoption fees throughout various days or weeks throughout the year. Always check their website and social media on what special promotions are going on. For the month of April, any dog over 50 lbs+ is only $.50! With big dogs, there’s only more to love!

MEET LINDA – Linda is a spunky, Certified Senior (which means she’s in great health at 8 years old!), who would LOVE to be your permanent beach buddy. This lady loves to go on walks, especially at the beach and will gladly jump in the car with you wherever you want to go. Linda is affectionate.
