Love is in the air and Jennifer Oberg Atelier, a Dressmaking & Design Studio located in Makawao, is here to help you capture those special moments.

Jennifer Oberg Atelier specializes in dressmaking, custom wedding gowns, bridal and prom alterations, tailoring, clothing alterations, pressing and steaming services, and sewing classes.

“I’m so proud of our wonderful team of highly skilled sewists,” said owner Jennifer Oberg. “We pour our hearts into the work that we do and strive to provide a very unique experience tailored to each of our clients. Our aim is that they leave feeling confident and comfortable in their skin by providing the perfect fit for their garments.”

Jennifer’s studio on Maui reflects her own creative journey. She started working in opera and theater costume shops on the East Coast and West Coast – learning from and apprenticing with creative, experienced, and artistic crafts persons along the way. Jennifer then headed to Hollywood, creating custom, couture clothing and high-quality costumes for films, television shows, and many private clients. She worked closely with talented costume designers on numerous productions and learned from many brilliant and gifted artisans – people who had been working in Hollywood costume workrooms for decades.

A move to Maui in 2001 resulted in a new direction for Jennifer – wedding gowns, bridesmaids and special occasion dresses.

“I chose Maui because of the people, the small town feel, the strong sense of community and the aloha with people always caring for each other. It is a very special place.”

“In Hollywood, I was known as the person to call upon to make beautiful dresses for the actresses. So, moving into wedding gowns on Maui was a natural, easy transition. The brides are the stars, rather than the actresses, and I love working with the brides! They are full of joy and happiness and it’s the most important day of their lives! I love helping them fulfill their dreams of the perfect dress.”
