Roy has a background in public education. He is Suzuki Method Certified on cello and has 8 years of private instruction with students as young as 5 years old on violin, viola, cello, and double bass. He attended University of Wisconsin-Madison, WI and Oberlin College, OH for bow repair training and can also orchestrate and notate all kinds of music.

Roy chose Maui to start his business because the public school system doesn’t include orchestra in its curriculum. Did you know? Studies have shown major benefits to brain development in those who study a stringed instrument. Music training can also improve one’s social skills as performing music involves timing, and many different parts working together to create the whole.

Today, Roy provides one-on-one instruction on violin, viola, cello, bass, and music theory – delivering both online and in-person guidance. Definitely, music to our ears!
